Wearable for cows that 'neutralises' methane in their breath and a device that captures particles shed by car tyres have been named among the winners of The Prince of Wales' inaugural Terra Carta Design Lab.
The initiative invites some of the world's most talented design students and alumni to design high-impact, low-cost solutions for Nature, People and Planet.
Out of 125 original submissions, four teams of Royal College of Art students and alumni based in London have been chosen as the winners.
These also include aerodynamic nutrient and seed pods made from food waste, that claims to accelerate regeneration up to 10 times, and the first 100 per cent recyclable and chemical-free outdoor performance textile.
Later today, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and British product designer Sir Jony Ive will visit the Royal College of Art for the opening of an exhibition showcasing the projects and meet the four winners.

London-based agricultural service Zelp has designed a wearable device for cattle (pictured) to neutralise methane emissions in real time
A firm called the Tyre Collective is developing a patent-pending device that captures tyre wear at the wheel before it can be propelled into the surrounding environment
Here's a closer look at the four winners and their creations, which have all been described as 'solutions to the environmental crisis'.
Zelp
Zelp describes itself as an agricultural service that wants to reduce harmful gas emissions while improving animal welfare.
Cows and other farm animals release huge amounts of methane - a powerful greenhouse gas - into the atmosphere through their burps and farts.
So Zelp staff have built a device that fits 'comfortably' around a cow's head without restricting their movement or feeding.
As the cattle exhales, methane travels through a catalyst where it's oxidized, then released into the air as CO2 and water vapour.
'The technology precisely tracks methane reduction and key data for farmers, like welfare, efficiency, and fertility metrics,' the firm says on its website.

Zelp's wearable collects emissions data in real-time and presents data on 'intuitive dashboards' on the accompanying ZELP app (pictured)
The Tyre Collective
Tyre wear - fragments of vehicle tyres that are worn off in transit - is the second largest microplastic pollutant in our environment, after single-use plastics.
These rubber particles, some too small to be seen by the naked eye, can travel through the air and even be breathed in by roadside pedestrians.
So a firm called the Tyre Collective is developing a patent-pending device that captures tyre wear at the wheel before it can be propelled into the surrounding environment.
The attachable filter uses static electricity to attract tyre fragments, like the static from when you rub a balloon against a sweater.
As well as spearheading the capture and monitoring of tyre wear, the team are exploring upcycling it into new products, such as more ultra-robust tyres.
The Tyre Collective mitigate rubber particles by capturing tyre wear at the source to ensure clean air, safeguarding human environment and health

The No. 9 London bus, on average, releases 4.65g per journey and a total of 65g a day. (Car and EV quantities based on a 16km UK average commute per day)
Amphitex
The third start-up, called Amphibio, is developing Amphitex, a sustainable and recyclable alternative to traditional waterproof breathable textiles used in the outdoor apparel industry.
Current performance outdoor textiles are impossible to recycle and use many harmful chemicals, meaning they face either landfill or incineration when they're disposed of.
Conversely, Amphitex will be made from a combination of recycled and plant-based feedstock, resulting in a carbon negative textile.
Amphibio said it is also creating an artificial gill to dramatically reduce the weight of heavy tanks used in diving equipment.

Aerseeds
Lastly, Aerseeds are described as aerodynamic seed pods made from food waste - although they look like simple paper airplanes.
Mimicking natural processes, Aerseeds are carried by the wind to cover large areas and reach difficult terrains where they deliver nutrients and seeds to soils depleted by human activity.
In this way, they are essentially human-made seed dispersers that 'work with nature to accelerate regeneration up to 10 times'.

All winners will receive £50,000 funding and mentoring from Sir Jony Ive and the corporate members of the Sustainable Markets Initiative.
Sir Ive, who notably worked at Apple from 1992 to 2019, said: 'All the Design Lab winners have ideas and designs that deserve to be developed.
'The ingenuity and determination of these designers has produced some extraordinarily creative responses, and they now embark on the journey to turn these great ideas into practical solutions.
'We can all have good ideas.
I find it reassuring, particularly facing the overwhelming challenge of climate change, that we can all contribute ideas that could evolve into valuable solutions. I love not only the power of a good idea but how egalitarian and inclusive they can be.'

Tony Blair's old private school Fettes College has paid out £400,000 to a former pupil who claimed he was beaten and sexually abused by a teacher.
The school was sued by a man, known as Frank, who gave evidence to the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry.
It settled damages out of court, in the first known legal victory against the prestigious Edinburgh school where boarding fees can reach £36,500.
Some 20 former pupils have raised actions for damages with more than a dozen naming the same former master and payments could total more than £15 million.
Frank claims he was 'beaten and sexually abused' from the age of 12 by an former-maths teacher now living in South Africa, known as Edgar.
Former pupil Frank attended Fettes Junior School and Fettes College as a day student between 1975 and 1981 and says abuse happened in the classroom.
Fettes College in Edinburgh, Scotland, has paid out £400,000 to a former pupil who claimed he was beaten and sexually abused by a teacher
Frank, now 67, raised a personal damages action reportedly for £1 million at the Court of Session against the Governors of the Fettes Trust which manages the school.
His claim has now been settled out of court while the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) attempt to extradite the teacher at the centre of the claims from South Africa.
Frank said: 'It has never been about the money.
'Fettes had the opportunity back in 2005 to do the right thing but they tried to bury things rather than do right by the pupils who were in their care..'

It is claimed that Edgar, who was married, singled Frank out as he showed signs of starting puberty earlier than other children.
The alleged attacks started with Frank being grabbed by the hair as he sat at his desk then having his neck whipped back.
The violence allegedly escalated and became sexual assaults.
Frank claimed: 'He'd molest me while I stood at his desk as he marked my class work and one day when I was kept back at end of class he pinned me against a door frame and assaulted me.
'It was terrifying and I was frozen - I could even hear people walk past outside.
'At that time teachers had a supreme authority - it was like a totalitarian right-wing command structure where pupils were expected to obey regardless..'
Frank and his mother reported their allegations to the school and Edgar was sent on a one month sabbatical then reinstated.
The college counts former Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair among its alumni
During the decades that followed Frank suffered from PTSD, flashbacks and depression.
He left Fettes with poor qualifications which impacted his ability to secure a career.
In the mid-2000s Frank reported his claims to the school and Police Scotland but no action was taken.
He is one of a number of the former pupils who say they were the victims of physical and sexual assaults at Edgar's hands.
The COPFS initially refused to extradite Edgar citing a time-bar on certain historic abuse crimes, the age of the accused and delays to the extradition process being exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It later reversed that decision and extradition procedures are now under way.
The allegations against Edgar were first publicly aired at the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry last November.
It heard that Fettes College sent Edgar to be treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and he returned to the school for a further three-and-a-half years.
The accusations were not reported to police by then headmaster Anthony Chenevix-Trench.
A witness, named only as Michael, who was the headmaster of Fettes Junior School at the time, said the alleged abuse came to light when Frank told his mother that Edgar had touched him in spring 1975.
He told the inquiry: 'Edgar did not deny he had touched that boy.
In my view Edgar admitted his offence, he never said that he did not do it.'
Fettes College is a private coeducational independent boarding and day school in Edinburgh, Scotland, with over two-thirds of its pupils in residence on campus
Edgar later returned to the school and continued teaching for three-and-a-half years until more allegations followed in 1979 along with similar claims in South Africa dating from the late 60s.
Fresh allegations followed and Edgar was sacked - but given a glowing reference by Mr Chenevix-Trench who described his as 'definitely a thoroughbred'.
The reference also stated that Edgar 'came out of a good stable' and was 'a good games player'.
Frank hopes his case will prompt further legal actions and see the report of all abuse concerns to the police made mandatory.
He added: 'I know I am not the only survivor of abuse at Fettes and I don't believe my attacker was the only teacher.
'Many children were beaten - some until they were unconscious - and sexually abused and I would urge anyone to come forward as the shame is not yours.
'It's about time the door was closed on organisations being able to quietly investigate allegations of abuse quietly 'in house'.
'A mandatory requirement to report all abuse concerns to the police is the only way to detect predators and bring them to justice.'
Kim Leslie, Partner at Digby Brown Solicitors, said: 'Frank's strength in speaking out is matched only by his strength in taking those responsible to court.
'Many abuse cases have been raised against Fettes but I believe Frank's victory is the first that's publicly known to be successful.
'I hope survivors may take hope from this result as they consider their own route to justice to get the damages and recognition they deserve.'
Fettes also counts actor Tilda Swinton, a string of high court judges, UK Government cabinet ministers and captains of industry among its alumni.
In a statement to the SCAI, Fettes made a 'full and unreserved apology'.
It said: 'While words of apology may have limited worth, we fully accept and recognise in the past there was sexual, physical and emotional abuse of pupils while at Fettes College.'

RABAT, Dec 16 (Reuters) - At a soccer academy near Rabat, 100 young Moroccans hope to emulate the success of alumni who took the national team to a World Cup semi-final and will play in a third-place game on Saturday.
Morocco spent $13 million to build the Mohammed VI Football Academy in 2010 when the kingdom's soccer scene was in the doldrums, lagging behind African counterparts after having failed to reach the World Cup since 1998.
While many of the triumphant African Lions squad grew up abroad, four of those who were born in Morocco trained as youngsters at the nation's principal academy, which brings in talent from across the country.
"Skill has always existed in Morocco, but proper training of talents at a younger age was lacking," said the academy's Tarik El Khazri who coached Youssef En-Nesyri, scorer of Morocco's winning headed goal in their quarter-final defeat of Spain.
"We have players from across Morocco and from different social groups ... talent is the main criteria."
The three other national team players who studied and trained at the academy are Azzedine Ounahi, Nayef Aguerd and Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti.
The academy stretches over 17 hectares and has its own boarding house, restaurant, clinic, entertainment hall, swimming pool and classrooms, as well as nine pitches including a covered one.
The curriculum combines training on the pitch with classroom classes.
Most students leave the academy with a bachelor´s degree.
Some 90% of graduates get jobs as soccer players, said Belmahdi Abdellatif, another coach, and most big Moroccan teams contain players who started out at the academy.
Others have gone to play in Europe.
Meanwhile, Moroccan soccer is on the up, with its clubs winning all three pan-African tournaments this year.
"After the successful participation of the Moroccan national team, we are flooded with applications," said Khazri.
"Players and staff are very proud to see former graduates contributing to the prowess of the national team." (Reporting by Ahmed Eljechtimi; Editing by Angus McDowall and Andrew Cawthorne)

Eddie Nketiah has been widely praised by pundits after his performance in Arsenal's 3-0 win over Oxford United in the FA Cup third round.
The striker bagged a brace after Mohamed Elneny's opener at the Kassam Stadium.
He took both goals brilliantly, coolly rounding the keeper to slot home his first before adding a gentle dink over the keeper to seal a place in the fourth round.

It comes at an important time for Arsenal as Gabriel Jesus's absence through injury has left many questioning whether they have the depth to maintain a title challenge.
Ian Wright lauded the striker after the game.
He told ITV: 'Eddie has got that quality, you back him to finish those chances.
'They've got faith in him, its sad to be without Gabriel Jesus but we know what Eddie is capable of. He'll feel better going into the next game.'
The brace took Nketiah's season tally to seven and there is a feeling he may be living up to his promise after becoming England U21's highest goal scorer in history two years ago.
Ian Wright praised the 23-year old, saying 'you back him to finish those chances'
Karen Carney was also impressed by the 23-year-old as she added: 'Anywhere in that 18-yard box I'd back him all day.
He needs to get more involved, but in the 18 yard box there's no better finisher at Arsenal.'
Clinton Morrison largely agreed on 5 Live, but felt he may not quite rival Jesus.
'Credit to Eddie Nketiah.
A lot of people have been saying can he fill Gabriel Jesus' shoes? I am not saying he can because Jesus is a fantastic player but he is doing well at the moment and scoring lots of goals,' he said.
Speaking after the game, Nketiah reflected on a tough but rewarding night for the Gunners, as he told ITV: 'We knew it wasn't going to be easy.
Tough ground, good crowd, and the pitch was hard.
Arsenal will face a tough test in the fourth round of the Cup as they face Manchester City
'We had to up the level we weren't good enough in the first half as we upped the intensity in the second and got the reward.'
On his two goals, he added: 'I took the first one nice and the second one was a nice little dink so probably enjoyed that one more.'
Arsenal's win means they will advance to face Manchester City in the next round.
Looking ahead to the tie, Nketiah said: 'Every player wants to play, what ever competition it is I always want to play. It's not the best draw, but we're up for it, we've got a lot of games in between so we're going to get up for them.'

The NFL Divisional playoff schedule is now officially set for next weekend after the finalization of Super Wild Card weekend.
Next weekend's playoff slate will be headlines by a mouthwatering AFC matchup between the Cincinatti Bengals and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at 3pm ET.
Both AFC teams have been considered amongst the Super Bowl candidates since before the season started and done nothing to dispel those thoughts thus far.
It is also a rematch of the unfinished game between the two teams on January 2, which was abruptly cancelled when Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field.

Benidorm's enduring appeal as a great holiday destination comes from its versatility; it really does have something for absolutely everyone.
The resort boasts stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife and good food, skyscraper hotels that have become an established feature of the Costa Blanca skyline, and historic medieval districts in the old town.
Tourists travelling from Alicante to Benidorm for more than just relaxation, however, can scare themselves happy at theme parks like Terra Mitica.
Located to the west of the town, it is a terrific place for creating exhilarating memories, ideal for thrill-seeking families with children of all ages.
Terra Mitica takes it thematic cues from the lush ancient history of the Mediterranean, featuring five unique areas: Rome, Iberia, Greece, The Islands and Ocionia. History and fun - the perfect family combination!
Rome
The most famous ancient civilisation is Rome.
Its main attraction is the Magnus Colossus, which joins tight corners and sudden drops with speeds of over 60mph. The Flight of the Phoenix hits similar speeds and, with a notoriously stomach-turning 54m drop, is another essential for those in search of radical experience.
And Inferno, a ball rollercoaster that spins around and around - just don't eat before that one! To round off Rome also has smaller, kiddy-friendly activities like Ayquesustus and Vertigum to keep everyone occupied.
Iberia
Similarly all the family can enjoy the Spanish version of dodgem cars and other gentle driving rides for the youngest visitors.
Tizona is the biggie in Iberia, with its velocity of dips inspiring delighted shouts and screams that will be audible in the other zones of Terra Mitica.
Greece
Ancient Greece might be home to democracy but here its most exciting legacy is SynKope, a massive disc full of people that spins at 55mph at an angle of 120º.
You won't be sure which ways up or down after this one! If the heat is overwhelming, try Triton's Fury, a river ride in which getting wet is guaranteed. The Labyrinth of the Minotaur is a must for the younger ones, a fun horror ride decorated with sirens, basilisks and monsters from all manner of Greek myths.
The Islands
The mythological theme continues into The Islands, with more water rides like Rapids of Argos and Rage of Achilles - recreating a ship's galley in the stormy Aegean Sea. In Ulysses Rescue, you can climb aboard a small boat and sail past famous stories and characters, all watched over by the giant head of Poseidon.
Ocionia
In Ocionia, also known as Egypt, mummies and pyramids abound - home to soaking water rollercoasters and dramatic paintball battles.
It's a great place to take a breather on Infinito, a gentle viewing platform which rises 100m above everything and everyone else. Aah, the views.
Meanwhile in the streets, there are acrobatic performances and stuntmen who vividly realise some of the most spectacular myths.
The diversity of Terra Mitica is astounding!
How to Get There
Major airlines like easyJet and Ryanair fly directly to Alicante from all over the UK now, and it's a short drive from there to Benidorm. The easiest and cheapest means of travelling that distance is to book a Shuttle Direct transfer from Alicante to Benidorm.
That will only take 45 minutes and you will be dropped off wherever you please. From there the town is yours to explore as you wish.
Lukas Johannes is a driver for Shuttle Direct, the number one provider of shared and private airport transfers all over Europe and northern Africa. If you're looking for the most affordable ride from , Lukas and his colleagues can make sure that you and your luggage get to and from the airport swiftly and safely.
