SKS/PKKA Work out

WE are gearing up for the annual and bi-annual meets and workouts! The next one in the works is potentially on the 22 of July. This will be in the same format we have always had for the SKS as we transition to the PKKA as mention by Mr. Guinette. This particular event will be one to attend for sure. More to come stay tuned.

If you were unaware until now about the transition from the SKS to the PKKA please see the previous post from Mr. Milt Guinette and or go to http://Kenpoguy.com for further details. Thank you All for your continued patience and dedication.

From Mr. Guinnette,

Society for Kenpo Studies notice…
It is with both sadness and happiness that I make this announcement.
This is to notify the full SKS membership that after much contemplation and varied situations we have decided to dissolve the Society for Kenpo Studies as it now operates.
Of late we have experienced diminished local training site resources and no near future viable options. The SKS has grown from its inception to training groups of approx 30 members. We have kind of “grown out” of reasonable locations for Open House events, etc…. As many of you know, the SKS “Open House” events kind of formed from John Ellis’ local Diamond Dragon School Open House events. Currently no active school owners have a location that will accommodate the group. Covid has also impacted our recent availability to get together and stay cohesive. This is not an easy decision for me as you all probably assume. The SKS has been a very important component to my Kenpo journey. We had a wonderful 15 year run. More than many groups manage to endure. This is the “sadness” part of this announcement.
Now for the “happiness” part of this notice…
Mr. Todd Durgan, a long time member of our group and an SKS board member, has offered to allow any current SKS members to transition to his group the “Phasic Kombatives Kenpo Karate Alliance”. This group has more wide reaching resources and training opportunities and has remained active in promoting the Kenpo and related arts. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Durgan and have had the opportunity to teach and train at many of his events. He is a first class practitioner that shares the SKS group philosophies and ideals. Currently active SKS board members and advisors have agreed to this transition and have joined the PKKA, as have I. We have graciously been allowed to keep our group leadership positions in his group going forward.
I highly recommend and encourage all current Society for Kenpo Studies members follow us and join Mr. Durgan’s PKKA.
For more details on membership in the PKKA group please contact Mr. Durgan. You can also contact me if you have any further questions on this transition.
With much respect in the arts,
Milt Guinette
