Synopsis of the PKI Mission statement:
The goal of the PKI and its curriculum is to enable the student to execute the material in an organic and less restrictive manner that will allow for those materials to be used not necessarily as prescribed by a choreographed or predetermined sequence, but as needed or required by the situation one finds them self in.

What we do
Ed Parker's Kenpo Karate has been known and touted for its overwhelmingly practical and effective self defense techniques. We arrive at that destination by way of three things. They are economy of motion, practicality of the techniques, and Logic or our scientific approach to the application of this information. It's also at the same time, widely known for the excessive and sometimes redundant curriculum and requirements. All of these components make this system of personal defense not so easy to teach and often even more difficult for the beginner to learn. Now with this personal evolution of the Kenpo system by Mr. Durgan to include, integrated weapons, and integrated groundwork as a part of the base curriculum, the importance of sharing this material has never been more relevant.
What is the "Phasic Kombatives Integrated" System?
Mr. Durgan has carefully selected 81 of the most applicable personal defense techniques from the “Kenpo system" and put them into a newly organization syllabus and curriculum for the system called Phasic Kombatives Integrated. These 81 techniques are the root of self-defense of the PKI system (in principle and action) and allow the student to learn a system of self-defense that covers the gamut from standing, weaponized kombatives, empty hand Kombatives to ground Kombatives and everything in between. As the student progresses through the system they will be introduced to principles, concepts, basics and techniques from weapons systems, and ground fighting systems in addition to the basic self-defense system through some traditional training drills as well as newly created and introduced drills, sets, and forms designed or adopted specifically for the PKI and the purpose of integrated and immersion learning. Once we get you to the point of "effective combat readiness" we then take you back and learn all of the rest of the 154 self-defense techniques of the EPAK. If you are frustrated with your traditional system and curriculum this might be what you are looking for.
Why Integrated vs. Incorporated?
Integrate - you take one thing and make it fit into another. Integrating immigrants into a culture would mean you teach immigrants how to conduct themselves within another culture.
Incorporate - you take one thing or parts of one thing and blend it in with another. so while very similar in application there is a difference and that difference is important.
Why you should do this with us

Why I want to do this for you
I have been very fortunate over the last many decades to have studied with a Teacher that allowed and encouraged my personal growth and progression in the arts. I have spent these years compiling and completing the PKI curriculum specifically, and the particular methods and drills that it's comprised of for much longer. This is a side affect of working to help the average student be better able to defend themselves at a much earlier time along their personal journey in the Martial arts.
