Just want to say Hello.

Is back strain interfering with your daily activities?
Does the pain affect your mood and accomplishments?

Mom always said to never play ball in the house. This statement is usually said after there was an "accident". After the "accident" happened, you are now looking at a hole in the wall. What would you start with to repair the hole?

You will need tools. You will need the right tools. If you have the right tools, you will be more effective in covering up the hole. Just like you need the right tools for a hole in the wall, you need the right tools or options for a treatment for back strain.



What is a strain?

Over stressing or over stretching can cause a tear in the muscle tissue. The cause of this is pain associated with inflammation and bruising or discoloration on the skin. Your body can heal and repair itself from a strain. The bigger the tear, the longer the recovery.

Of course, we would all choose a quicker recovery. In order to rid yourself of the pain, the muscle tissue needs to be free from inflammation. Once the inflammation is gone, the tissue can start to heal itself and the pain will be significantly less.

What are the options for a treatment for back strain?


Activity Level Cut down on your activity and be nice to your back.

You should avoid heavy lifting, reaching up high, or stretching your back. You could re-injury your strain if you are not careful. When a strain is re-injured, it will take longer to heal and bring the inflammation down.

Rest Resting when possible, helps your body to use it's energy to heal.
The body doesn't like tears or holes. It will always try to close them up. Let it do it's job. When my daughter had her trach removed in her neck, the doctor did not close up the hole, or stoma. The usual procedure is to let it heal and close itself. The doctors like to let the body do it's thing.

And sure enough, in six weeks the stoma was closed up.

Ice Applying ice to the injured area can help bring down inflammation and ease up the pain.

Essential oils The use of essential oils on your back strain can help with healing. Their purpose is to heal naturally.


What about taking a pain reliever?

If the pain is too much to sleep or rest, then pain reliever can be helpful. Check with your doctor about using medication. Too much medication is not a good thing. If you dull the pain to the point that you don't feel it, then you may take a chance on re-injuring your back strain.

When starting a treatment for back strain, remember that your body needs to eliminate the inflammation and not re-injure the strain. Resting and being careful, may take time away from your to do list, but once the strain is healed, you will be able to get back to your normal activity.
