The English breakfast can also involve (6) fried tomatoes, (7) fried bread (or just toast), (8) Black Pudding, which is truly a blood sausage, sliced and fried (it is a "pudding" for the reason that of grain as very well as meat in it -- with no blood, it can be "white pudding"), (8) and bacon, which right here is usually "again bacon," with fewer unwanted fat than American bacon, but it can also be a whole bacon "chop," with bone. Other English foodstuff that sound very similar to pub food stuff are "Pie and Mash," which is floor beef in a wrapper or pie shell, served with mashed potatoes and a parsley sauce, a "Sausage Roll," which is just a sausage in fried breading, and a "Bacon Buttie" (or "Butty," etcetera.), which is a fried bacon sandwich, not significantly from a BLT on toast. The other vivid place in English cooking, which is a veritable beacon of hope, is breakfast, the "Full English Breakfast." As we see from the Somerset Maugham epigraph earlier mentioned, not just foreigners might feel that this is the best of English cooking.
